Giant Crane Building

Today we did a final count of the number of cranes that we have created so far and we found that we had finished all 1000! Thank you all for all your help.

Now we're in the process of creating a giant crane that will be on display on the field next to Schine and in front of the Hall of Languages during the week of March 19th-23rd. We're making this crane in remembrance of the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami that occurred in Japan. Today we finished taping multiple sheets of paper together and this weekend we'll be meeting to fold this giant crane.

We have a few events prepared for this month such as the lighting up of the Hall of Languages in red and white during the week of March 19th - 23rd. We'll also have an event on March 23rd with onigiris where we'll present the finished crane flag. This flag will be placed on display in Bird Library and at the end of the semester, it will go to the Consulate General of Japan in New York City.

Again, thank you guys for all your help!
